Our Story
Forged in the trade. Built on integrity.
The Craftsmanship Deficit
True North Homes was founded to solve a pervasive problem in the Canadian renovation industry: the craftsmanship deficit.
Too often, we saw beautiful architectural designs executed with subpar framing, inadequate waterproofing, and hasty finishing. We witnessed "flipped" homes where the visible surfaces hid structural nightmares. We decided the industry needed a company that approached residential remodeling with the exactitude of commercial engineering.
We don't cut corners. We pull permits. We insulate beyond code requirements. We use the correct fasteners, the proper underlayments, and the right sequence of operations.
Our Philosophy
Every home is an interconnected system. A bathroom remodel isn't just about tile; it's about vapor management and load-bearing joists. A kitchen renovation isn't just about cabinets; it's about electrical load capacities and workflow ergonomics. We think holistically.
Why Canadian Homes Are Different
The freeze-thaw cycle of our climate creates unique stressors on buildings. Foundations shift, wood expands and contracts violently, and condensation can rot poorly insulated walls from the inside out. Our team is specifically trained in local building sciences.
- Advanced thermal bridging reduction
- Climate-specific exterior sealant protocols
- Radiant heating integration for winter comfort
- Mold-resistant basement finishing systems
